- November 13, 2012 - KNA & ANA to Launch A Special Pilot Project In 2013
We are pleased to share with you some exciting news about an innovative pilot project between Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) and ANA. KNA contacted ANA several weeks ago with a request to develop a pilot project that tests the concepts advanced by ANA at the 2012 House of Delegates, i.e., the establishment of a single, joint membership at a reduced dues level, with maintenance of a “legacy membership” at the current, higher dues level. The respective boards approved the approach; KNA members affirmed this direction at their October 26 membership meeting; and a Membership Pilot Project and Services Agreement has been reached.

Team up to Promote A Healthier And Tasty Lifestyle
Surgeon and CEO of Peak Performance Foods, Steven Snodgrass, M.D., F.A.C.S. has operated on thousands of obese patients, many of whom were children. This led to his creation of a revolutionary snack, Pro-Bites. Pro-Bites is a great tasting, puffed protein snack, that is quick, easy, tasty and truly healthy. To accommodate busy schedules and lifestyles, he developed protein-on-the-go. "Everyone knows that one of the keys to a healthy diet is to eat quality protein during your meals and snacks," Dr. Snodgrass said. "When you eat Pro-Bites, you make eating count and feel full and satisfied, so you are going to eat less during the day. Rather than eating a snack that does not help your body, we ask that once during the day you eat Pro-Bites instead."
Future Hall of Fame baseball pitcher Roger Clemens endorses the product and it was selected as the Official Snack of USA Volleyball.
And now, your purchase of Pro-Bites snacks will not only help you and your family on the way to healthier choices, but you will also be supporting the KNA and nursing when you purchase Pro-Bites. A portion of all purchases will go directly to the KNA
You do not have to be a member of the KNA, just go to www.probites.com and, when you place your order, enter code: 3kna11.
- July 7, 2010 - Federal Safe Staffing Bill Introduced
SILVER SPRING, MD – The American Nurses Association (ANA) applauds the introduction of federal legislation that empowers registered nurses (RNs) to drive staffing decisions in hospitals and, as a result, protect patients and improve the quality of care.
On the heels of the introduction of the Registered Nurse Safe Staffing Act of 2010 (S. 3491/H.R. 5527), hundreds of registered nurses from across the country flocked to Capitol Hill last month to meet with their congressional representatives, emphasizing that insufficient nurse staffing can be a life-or-death issue for patients and that federal legislation is needed to ensure that hospitals don’t limit resources in a way that harms patient outcomes.
