    Allison Grant, BSN, RN
      Present Position: Pediatric Executive Director
    Type of Position: Clinical Leader
    Education: BSN, University of Louisville; BA in biology, Spalding University
    Professional Organizational Activities:  Legislative director for the Kentucky Association of Nursing Students (KANS); led tobacco rally and met with lobbyists about healthcare organizations.
    Statement: As a second-degree nurse with a previous 
    degree in biology, I have worked on the forefront of research and education at the Institute for Cancer Research in London, England and for the World Health Organization in Lyon, France. I hope to use this experience to dive deeper into new methods for nursing through the KNA and my future endeavors. I am currently continuing my education at the University of Tennessee with DNP dual concentration in pediatric primary and acute care and a doctorate in medical education. If elected, I will work with nurses of all levels in the KNA system to approach research in an innovative and exciting way.

    Statement: Now more than ever, nursing needs leaders with experience and in-depth knowledge regarding patient care, evidence-based practice and productivity. I have close to 30 years of experience with the majority of that in emergency medicine. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University. I believe I possess the knowledge, expertise and drive to make a difference in nursing today and in the future. I look forward to serving the KNA and my fellow nurses in the future.

    Education: Mount St. Joseph University, MSN, RN 
    Professional Organizational Activities: KNA—Northern Chapter, Member-at-Large; Sigma Theta Tau 
    Statement: I am a new nurse and am very interested in taking a role early in my career with the Kentucky
    Nurses Association because I am very passionate about nurse advocacy and furthering mine and my fellow nurses learning and development. My main interest is in mom/baby and neonatal, which is my current specialty area. I am very eager to learn and develop myself as a professional nurse and be active within my profession. I have attended multiple KNA Northern Kentucky Chapter meetings and am very excited about the educational opportunities that they have provided so far and look forward to helping bring these same educational opportunities to other nurses.
