    Education: DNP, Western Kentucky University; MSN, Bellarmine University and BSN, University of Louisville
    Professional Organizational Activities: member of the KNA Government Affairs Cabinet and has served as past president of the KNA Heartland Chapter.

    Statement:  As a recent member of the Government Affairs Cabinet, I believe the Professional Practice Cabinet would allow me to extend my leadership scope and skills.  The responsibility of this cabinet supports nurses practicing in Kentucky.  I humbly request your vote and, if elected, I will proudly represent the KNA.

    Education: University of Texas at Arlington, BSN and MSN
    Professional Organizational Activities: Co-President, KNA River City Chapter (2017); member of Member-At-Large KNA Ethics and Human Rights Committee; KONL member (Ohio Valley District).
    Statement:  I have witnessed first-hand the incredible
    impact that nurses can have through professional organization efforts. It was an honor and privilege to be a part of the River City Chapter leadership where I was inspired by the strong voices of our members. If elected, I would contribute to the continued impact of our profession at the local and state levels to ensure our patients and community are strongly represented. Nurses should have a strong voice at every decision-making table because we are the ultimate advocates for our patients and their families.
     
    Portia Steele, MS, BSN, RN
       Present Position: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, RNFA
    Type of Position: Clinical Leader
    Education: Indiana University Southeast, BSN and MSN; pursuing a doctorate from the University of Louisville; Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Kentucky and Indiana.
    Professional Organizational Activities: Member of KNA, past member of the Indiana Nurses Association; NSNA 
     past presenter and Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives.
    Campaign Statement:  What I lack in experience I make up for in enthusiasm. While I am inexperienced in association/policy roles but have held countless other leadership roles and am very passionate about serving the members of KNA.
