Nursing is the career choice for the future. Registered Nurses have
specialized knowledge and many hours of practical experience that open
doors for them in all kinds of practice settings. Nurses are eligible
for thousands of exciting jobs and can take their profession wherever
they want to go.
Hospitals are just one of many areas where nurses practice. Examples of
other practice settings include home care, public health, extended care
centers, clinics, offices, schools, military service, corporations and
occupational health settings.
Areas of nursing practice are just as varied including caring for
children, adults and the elderly; services for pregnant women and
newborn infants; operating room critical care and emergency departments
just to name a few.
Nursing is the largest health care profession in the United States. It
is both an art and a science. It blends scientific mind, technological
know how, a compassionate heart and healing hands.
