I. CONTINUING EDUCATION PROVIDER

KNA will serve as a CE provider for its own programs as well as those offered by partnering groups.

II. CAREER PATH COUNSELING

KNA will offer counseling to nurses and nursing students who seek assistance in identifying a full range of nursing careers that coincide with his/her education, level of preparation, experience, etc. These counseling services will also identify educational advancement that might assist the nurse’s career goals, as well as explore alternative career possibilities.

For non-KNA members: A fee for service will be determined for staff time and there will be a charge for informational material. A minimal charge for KNA members is being considered.

III. CAREER ASSESSMENT

KNA will offer nurses an assessment of his/her current career situation that can include advancement potential, salary and raise considerations, job security, retirement benefits, lateral movement opportunities, etc.

For non-KNA members: A fee for service will be determined for staff time and there will be a charge for informational material.

IV. PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

KNA will offer guidance to nursing on the Kentucky Board of Nursing requirements for nursing portfolios and will offer assistance to nursing in development of portfolios. KNA will also provide portfolio models.

For non-KNA members: A fee for service will be charged for staff time. There will also be a charge for portfolio outline materials which will be significantly less for KNA members.

V. RESUME/CURRICULUM VITAE SERVICES

KNA will provide training on resume/C.V. preparation for general use, as well as for targeted positions. KNA will also offer resume writing services.

A fee will be assessed for staff time and there will be additional charges for the production of resumes. KNA members will enjoy lower fees than non-KNA members.

VI. INTERVIEWING AND SELF – MARKETING

KNA will provide instruction on a personal basis and through CE programs that focuses on enhancing the nurse’s ability to interview more effectively and to market herself and her skills and assets in interviews and other communication.

There will be a fee for staff time and for general informational material.

A fee will be charged for staff time for individual counseling and there will be a charge for informational material. All fees will be discounted for KNA members.
